Paul Yoo

Paul is an occupational therapist with experience working with youth and individuals of all ages and abilities. He is also a postdoctoral fellow working in the Pediatric Neuroinflammatory Disorders Program at SickKids Hospital. He received his Doctoral Degree in Rehabilitation Science and Masters of Science Degree in Occupational Therapy from McGill University, Montreal. His research focuses on lifestyle outcomes and environmental/contextual factors that can improve health outcomes in children with Multiple Sclerosis and other disabilities/chronic illnesses. As a part of his research, he developed the Child Community Health Inclusion Index (CHILD-CHII) and incorporates the use of standardized assessments, clinical observations, and collaboration with the children and their families to deliver evidence-based and client-centred therapy. Mackenzie is a dedicated occupational therapist with a passion for working with children and young adults. She holds a Master of Science in Occupational Therapy from the University of Toronto, following a research-based Master’s in Health & Rehabilitation Sciences from Western University. Her clinical experience includes supporting children and young adults with developmental disabilities, focusing on sensory processing, self-regulation, and functional skill development. She values a family-centered approach, working closely with caregivers and educators to ensure therapy is engaging, meaningful, and seamlessly integrated into daily life. Mackenzie strives to create a supportive and personalized therapy environment where children feel comfortable exploring new skills. She utilizes a strengths-based, neurodiversity-affirming approach in her practice, and aims to support children in building the confidence to engage in their everyday activities. She is especially interested in working with school-agers to develop functional fine motor skills, as well as build emotional regulation skills. She is always looking to expand her knowledge on evidence-based best practices and uses a neurodiversity-affirming approach.
